As leaves fall, interest in autumn travel on the rise

Traditionally, early autumn has been a calm period for travel, tucked between summer vacations and Thanksgiving family reunions.

According to a AAA survey, though, fall's off-season peace and quiet has an appeal of its own: more than 1 in 4 Americans planned to take a vacation between Labor Day and Thanksgiving in 2017. We look at what autumn travelers like most about the season, and where they're heading.
